Tri-Valley Cities Awarded $2,800,000 in Community Project Funding

TPA congratulates the Tri-Valley Cities for being awarded $2,800,000 in community project funding benefitting the Tri-Valley region in the FY2021-22 Consolidated Appropriations Act. TPA is proud to work with the cities of Dublin, Livermore, and Pleasanton to secure $450,000 for the AXIS Mental Health Urgent Care, the City of San Ramon for securing $2,000,000 for the Iron Horse Trail Crow Canyon Road Bicycle-Pedestrian Overcrossing, and the Town of Danville to secure $350,000 for the Iron Horse Trail Bridge, Nature Park, and Pedestrian Safety Project.

These 5 communities have strong collaboration and partnership, and with their innovative approach, they are able to work together to successfully bring home funding for their communities. This latest achievement is another example of the commitment of the Tri-Valley Cities to protect and promote the quality of life in the communities that the serve and to provide an enriching life outside of work for their residents. This achievement is also a testament to the hard work of Congressmembers Eric Swalwell and Mark DeSaulnier and Senator Alex Padilla to bring this funding home to California.

Congratulations City of Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, San Ramon, and the Town of Danville!

Intergovernmental Public Sector Funding Advocacy

We research, identify, and even develop, and then secure local, state, and federal public sector funding for the capital development and on-going operations of “legacy projects” such as libraries, parks, recreational centers, museums, and numerous infrastructure related projects such as transit, water, and waste-water systems. Depending on our clients’ needs, this could mean everything from researching competitive and discretionary grant opportunities, developing new ones where none before existed or shaping developing ones to accommodate our clients’ needs, educating decision-makers on the needs of the project and the availability of public funds, identifying partners and matching funds, preparing and submitting formal requests and grants, and shepherding such requests and grants throughout their respective processes to successful conclusion, and then ensuring expedited and flexible disbursement of funds.

In Memoriam: Colonel John (Jack) V. Foley

A Note from Christopher Townsend:

“The water policy leadership of California as well as the community at large suffered a major loss with the passing of Col. Foley.

I worked with Col. Foley frequently in the 1980’s in my role as Vice President of Public Affairs for Stein-Brief Group, a real estate company that developed many projects in the service area of Moulton Niguel Water District. I hardly saw him at all over the next two decades as my career took me in a different direction. But as we came to build a practice with water agencies at Townsend Public Affairs, I was delighted to reconnect with him and rekindle a modest yet satisfying relationship.

He was a wonderful man with a magnanimous heart and the intelligence and tenacity to match it. I hope one day I can earn a reputation similar to his and many others I’ve had the privilege to work with”

Please visit the Moulton Niguel Water District website to further read about Col. Foley’s life and contributions to the water world.

A “Celebration of Life” Memorial will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at El Niguel Country Club, 23700 Clubhouse Drive, Laguna Niguel, CA from 11:00a-2:00p. Please contact Leslie Gray at 949.735.9465 or celebrationoflife426@yahoo.com.
