TPA congratulates Sacramento Regional Transit District for successfully securing $8,553,000 through the Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program (TIRCP) administered by the California State Transportation Agency to upgrade its information systems and provide higher quality services to its riders.
This TIRCP award will fully fund SacRT’s train technology implementation component, which will greatly enhance system reliability, as well as its quality of services. The project will address a number of improvements, including replacing disparate information systems, implementing new systems, creating methods of communications between all systems, and ensuring integration of SacRT’s vehicles and operations. Overall, these upgrades will improve transit efficiency and provide increased rider accessibility.
This latest achievement is another example of the commitment of SacRT to be a leader in providing mobility options for the communities it serves.
Once again, congratulations SacRT!
TPA congratulates the City of El Monte for successfully securing a grant in the amount of $3,000,000 through the Prop 64 Public Health and Safety Grant Program administered by the Board of State & Community Corrections to assist in mitigating the effects of marijuana in its community.
The City’s winning proposal included three innovative approaches. The first approach will fund the creation of first-of-its-kind Commercial Code Enforcement and Community Service Officer positions. The individuals in these positions will actively work toward improving the Commercial Cannabis Program and will serve as liaisons between City and community stakeholders.
The second approach will support Community Service Officer positions to coordinate cannabis awareness programs for El Monte’s youth, specifically in the City’s most vulnerable areas and those near legal cannabis operators.
The final approach will help increase the capacity of the police department to proactively enforce both illegal and legal cannabis operators citywide.
TPA proudly advocated on the City’s behalf in Sacramento, securing support from the City’s Legislators and emphasizing the City’s critical needs in this area.
Once again, congratulations El Monte on this major funding achievement!
TPA congratulates the North Orange County Public Safety Collaborative (a coalition of the Cities of Anaheim, Brea, Buena Park, Cypress, Fullerton, La Habra, Orange, Placentia, Stanton, La Palma, and Yorba Linda, and the County of Orange) for being awarded $5,000,000 in Community Project Funding through the 2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act to ensure that it is able to continue pursuing its mission to reduce youth violence and promote community safety.
The funding, secured by Representative Young Kim and Senator Alex Padilla, will further support the Collaborative’s efforts to reduce gang violence, strengthen crisis response and early action, confront homelessness, and provide supportive housing and reentry services. These services are critical to fostering a stronger community and this funding will enable the Collaborative to build on the significant success it has had over the past four years in Orange County.
This latest achievement is another example of the commitment of the Collaborative to implement innovative and effective solutions to protect and promote the quality of life in the communities it serves.
