TPA had the pleasure of attending the Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) press event to commemorate the Federal Transit Administration‘s (FTA) grant award of $77 million dollars in funding for their Hydrogen Fuel Cell Buses, Maintenance Facility Modernization, and Workforce Development Project.
In addition, SacRT received $10 million from SB125 provided by SACOG, $7.5 million from HVIP by CARB, and $3 million from SMAQMD, utilized as local match, bringing SacRT’s available funds to $94.3 million! ![]()

TPA is proud to have assisted in writing this winning application, which will enable SacRT to purchase new hydrogen fuel cell buses, replace aging fleet vehicles, construct a permanent hydrogen fueling station, modernize a key bus maintenance facility, and establish a workforce development program to train local workers in maintaining and operating the advanced zero-emission buses.
A project of this magnitude and complexity is only possible through strong support from Federal, State and Local leaders, and critical partnerships with California Air Resources Board (CARB), Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG), Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District (SMAQMD), Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE), New Flyer of America (New Flyer), American River College (ARC), Clean Cities Coalition (CCC), and the County and City of Sacramento.
In attendance were Ray Tellis, FTA Region 9 Administrator, Congresswoman Doris Matsui, Congressman Kevin Kiley, Congressman Ami Bera, California State Treasurer Fiona Ma, Assembly Member Josh Hoover, and Sacramento City Councilmember Eric Guerra supported by SacRT General Manager/CEO Henry Li and a strong coalition of local and industry leaders.
Congratulations to all involved! TPA is honored to have played a part in this monumental achievement.

We are excited to announce that the City of Oakland, in partnership with Townsend Public Affairs, has successfully secured $3,164,649 for the City through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Marine Debris Program.
This grant was one of 13 projects awarded funding nationwide, and the only project awarded funding in California. The funding will remove abandoned and derelict vessels and other large debris items from the Oakland Alameda Estuary, protecting the San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. This innovative project is a testament to the leadership and vision of the Mayor, City Council, and City Administration to ensure safe and clean waterways.
This latest achievement is another example of the commitment of the City to protect our ecosystems and shoreline and ensure improved navigational safety and access to the estuary.
Congratulations to the entire Oakland team!
Earlier this summer, Rep. Jimmy Panetta joined the Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority to celebrate securing $800,000 in federal funds to increase access to trails and facilities at the Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve.
TPA is proud to have partnered with the Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority and Congressman Panetta to secure these critical funds, which will support the construction of an ADA-accessible trail, ensuring that everyone, including seniors and individuals with disabilities, can fully experience and enjoy the natural beauty of the preserve.
A big thank you to Representative Panetta for his leadership in bringing this essential funding back to California and a huge congratulations to OSA! We are grateful for our continued partnership and look forward to more opportunities to champion the priorities of local communities.
