TPA congratulates the City of Soledad for being awarded a grant in the amount of $215,967 from the Tobacco Grant Program administered by the California Department of Justice.
The proceeds from this grant will fund tobacco retailer enforcement to include retailer inspections and enforcement operations, including flavored tobacco enforcement. Additionally, these funds will support the implementation of post-enforcement actions for violators.
This latest achievement is another example of the commitment of City leadership to protect and promote the quality of life of its residents and the prosperity of its businesses.

TPA was honored to help facilitate a successful Washington, DC advocacy trip on behalf of the Merced County Association of Governments (MCAG) last month! As a part of MCAG’s annual “One Voice” trip, the delegation met with key federal officials, including Senators Alex Padilla and Laphonza Butler, as well as Representative John Duarte. The delegation also met with representatives from several federal departments and agencies, including the U.S. Department of Transportation, Bureau of Reclamation, Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to discuss regional priorities and promote local projects throughout Merced County.
With six Member Cities, as well as the County of Merced, and the responsibility to serve almost 300,000 residents, it is critical that MCAG continues to receive the support it needs to protect and promote quality of life throughout its diverse communities. The group’s annual “One Voice” trip reflects MCAG’s commitment to communicating the region’s legislative priorities, obtaining federal funding, and advocating for residents to top decision-makers. Thank you to our federal partners for their continued engagement!
Once again, congratulations, MCAG, on a successful trip!
