Discovery Cube Orange County Awarded $3,468,952 for Visitor Enrichment Experience Project

TPA congratulates the Discovery Cube Orange County (a TPA client) for being awarded a grant in the amount of $3,468,952 from the Cultural, Community, and Natural Resources Grant Program administered by the California Natural Resources Agency.

The Discovery Cube will use these funds for the Visitor Enrichment Experience Project which is focused on enhancing the visitor’s experience by aligning their education programs to California’s Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and through upgrades to the Discovery Cube’s ability to adapt to the unavoidable impacts of climate change.

This latest achievement is another example of the commitment of Discovery Cube leadership to inspire, educate, and impact the community through their core initiatives of STEM proficiency, early learning, healthy living, and environmental stewardship.

Andres Ramirez Joins Firm as Associate

Townsend Public Affairs is excited to announce that Andres Ramirez has joined our firm as an Associate in the TPA State Capitol Office.

Andres brings experience in government affairs and policy research to TPA. Working closely with the State Legislature, Andres monitors and analyzes the effect of legislation on TPA clients. Additionally, Andres works with our clients to advance their local, regional and statewide funding needs.

Prior to joining TPA, Andres graduated from University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a concentration in International Relations. At UCLA, Andres played on the nationally ranked Bruin Rugby Team, served as philanthropy and community development chair for his fraternity, and successfully secured various political internships.

Outside of work, Andres enjoys traveling abroad to visit extended family, and helps coach rugby for Land Park’s youth club, as well as for his alma mater’s National Championship varsity team at Jesuit High School.
