City of Citrus Heights Secures $2,752,138

Congratulations to the City of Citrus Heights for successfully securing a grant award in the amount of $2,752,138 through the Organized Retail Theft Prevention Grant Program administered by the California Board of State & Community Corrections to combat organized retail theft and protect its community.

The funding will enable the Citrus Heights Police Department to purchase enhanced security equipment and improve the Department’s capacity to detect, respond to, and investigate instances of organized retail theft, motor vehicle theft, and motor vehicle accessory theft. These efforts will greatly improve public safety and security throughout the City.

This latest achievement is another example of the commitment of the City to provide high quality, economical, responsive city services to its community.

City of San Pablo Breaks Ground on SPARC Project

Congratulations to the City of San Pablo for their groundbreaking ceremony for San Pablo Area for Recreation and Community (SPARC) Project!

Earlier this year, TPA worked with the City to secure a $3 million state budget earmark for SPARC from Assembly Member Buffy Wicks.

As a result of the City’s diligent efforts and the commitment of Assembly Member Wicks to her district, San Pablo will be able to better serve its community with an inclusive and accessible park and open space area that will greatly benefit residents’ overall health and well-being, especially those in underserved areas.

Once again, congratulations, San Pablo, and thank you, Assembly Member Wicks! TPA looks forward to our continued partnerships.

City of San Leandro Secures $9,328,250

Congratulations to the City of San Leandro for securing $9,328,250 from the Homekey Initiative administered by the California Department of Housing & Community Development.

In partnership with the Housing Consortium of the East Bay, the City will utilize this critical funding for the Lewelling Interim Housing, an acquisition, rehabilitation, and operations/services project that will create 29 interim housing units serving individuals experiencing homelessness and chronic homelessness. This significant project will help the City expand the availability of housing and supportive services for individuals experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness and will foster increased community safety and well-being.

This latest achievement is another example of the commitment of the City to serve the priority needs of its community and enhance the quality of life for all residents.

TPA Hosts City of Ontario D.C. Advocacy Trip

Earlier this week the City of Ontario, completed a successful advocacy trip to Washington, DC.

The delegation, led by Council Member Alan Wapner, met with Senator Alex Padilla, Senator Laphonza Butler, Representative Norma Torres, Representative Ken Calvert, Representative Pete Aguilar, the U.S. Department of Transportation, and the White House. The insight shared during these productive discussions will assist the City as they continue to foster dynamic stability, a prosperous economy, and distinctive development.

The City of Ontario is a rapidly growing community with infrastructure needs from water, to broadband, roads, and freeway interchanges. We thank the federal partners for engaging with Ontario and look forward to years of continued partnership and growth.

TPA Hosts City of Murrieta D.C. Advocacy Trip

Last week, Townsend Public Affairs hosted the City of Murrieta in Washington, DC for several productive days of advocacy efforts.

Members of City leadership met with the offices of key federal representatives, including Senator Alex Padilla and Representatives Ken Calvert and Darrell Issa. The delegation also had effective meetings with officials in the Department of Justice, Department of Transportation, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs.

The relationships built and critical conversations fostered during this advocacy trip will help advance the City’s transportation and infrastructure goals, public safety priorities, and economic and community development efforts. Additionally, these critical efforts will help Murrieta continue to pursue its mission to foster a robust, growing, and connected community where residents, families, and business are able to thrive.

Congratulations to Murrieta on another successful advocacy trip! We look forward to our continued partnership to transform your vision into a legacy.

Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Secures $400,105

Congratulations to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District (CCCFPD) for securing a grant award in the amount of $400,105 from the Fire Prevention and Safety Grant Program administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to purchase updated equipment that will ensure District responsiveness and efficacy.

These funds will enable the District to replace the Fire Department’s current six-key access system with a single physical key, as well as a single E-key. Upgrading these resources will provide the Fire Department with access to any lock-boxed building within its jurisdiction, ensuring that firefighters are able to quickly respond to critical emergencies and protect the safety and security of community members, homes, and businesses.

This latest achievement is another example of the commitment of CCCFPD to preserve life, property, and the environment throughout Contra Costa County by honoring the past, recognizing the challenges of the present, and continuing to raise the bar of excellence into the future.
