Anakaren Cervantes Joins Firm as Associate

Townsend Public Affairs is excited to announce that Anakaren Cervantes has joined our firm as an Associate in the TPA Southern California Office.

Anakaren brings experience in policy research and writing to TPA. Working closely with the State Legislature, Anakaren monitors and analyzes the effect of legislation on TPA clients. Additionally, Anakaren works with our clients to advance their local, regional and statewide funding needs.

Prior to joining TPA, Anakaren graduated from Stanford University with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Public Policy and a Master of Arts degree in Latin American Studies. At Stanford, Anakaren led several public service student groups and worked as a Diversity Associate at the Office of Undergraduate Admission.

Outside of work, Anakaren enjoys reading non-fiction and fantasy novels, traveling, hiking with friends, and binge-watching her favorite shows.

City of Novato Awarded $220,500 Grant to Meet Sustainability Goals

TPA congratulates the City of Novato for being awarded a grant in the amount of $220,500 from the Food Waste Prevention and Rescue Grant Program, administered by the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle).

The proceeds of this grant will help meet the City’s sustainability goals by partnering with local nonprofits to rescue over two million pounds of edible food, that would have ended up in landfills.

This latest achievement is another example of the commitment of the City to provide excellent services and enrich the quality of life within the community in a fiscally-responsible manner.
