City of Palmdale Awarded $435,000 Grant for Tobacco-Related Enforcement

TPA congratulates the City of Palmdale (a TPA client) for being awarded a grant in the amount of $435,000 from the Tobacco Law Enforcement Grant Program administered by the California Department of Justice.

The City will use these funds to identify and target problematic tobacco retailers, conduct tobacco-related enforcement, initiate “shoulder tap” operations, and provide tobacco-related signage.

This latest achievement is another example of the commitment of City leadership to protect and promote the quality of life for its residents and the prosperity of its businesses.

Merced Union High School District Awarded $154,960 Grant to Reduce Student Truancy and Absence

TPA congratulates Merced Union High School District. (a TPA client) for being awarded a grant in the amount of $154,960 from the Learning Communities for School Success Grant Program administered by the California Department of Education.

The District,will use these funds for targeted programming to reduce student truancy and chronic absenteeism for high-risk, foster youth, and homeless students.

This latest achievement is another example of the commitment of the District to ensure every student will walk off the graduation stage with a diploma in one hand and CTE certification/proficiency in the other along with college credit on their transcript.

Claire Alex Joins Firm as Associate

Townsend Public Affairs, Inc. is proud to announce that Claire Alex has joined our firm as an Associate in the TPA Southern California Office.

Claire brings experience in marketing, writing, and strategic analysis to TPA. Claire is responsible for implementing the firm’s marketing and business development strategies. This includes, but is not limited to, the development of proposals and presentations, overseeing and developing marketing and promotional strategies, conducting research and analyzing data to identify target audiences, managing client prospects, managing the firm’s social media accounts and website, and conducting data analytics.

Prior to joining TPA, Claire attended Syracuse University where she managed the student division of the University’s Marketing and Communications Department and graduated with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History.

In her free time Claire enjoys sailing, photography, and talking about Syracuse basketball.
