Townsend Public Affairs, Inc. is proud to announce that Cori Williams has been promoted to the position of Director of the TPA Southern California Office.
Cori will lead a team that manages a portfolio of over 25 clients, including cities, counties, water districts, sanitation districts, other special districts, and non-profit organizations.
Since joining TPA in 2011, Cori has developed policy expertise for a variety of local, state, and federal governments issues, including water infrastructure, sanitation, transportation, sustainable communities, parks and recreation, public safety, energy, local governance, and the environment. Cori has also been responsible for securing millions in competitive grant funds for TPA local public agency clients.
Prior to joining TPA, Cori served as a policy advisor for Orange County Supervisor John Moorlach (now a member of the California State Senate). Cori was responsible for researching, analyzing, and advising on all policy issues related to Orange County Public Works, including the implications of state and federal legislation.
Cori graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Government from Claremont McKenna College and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Chapman University. Cori is a member of the Board of Directors of the Orange County branch of California Women’s Leadership Association, the Board of Directors of the Orange County Public Affairs Association, and the Conference Planning Committee of the Urban Water Institute, Inc.

TPA congratulates the City of Laguna Beach (a TPA client) for being awarded an Assistance to Firefighters Grant in the amount of $59,628 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The proceeds from this grant will be used by the Laguna Beach Fire Department to fund the purchase of 14 mobile radios and programming equipment.
This latest achievement is another example of the commitment of City leadership to protect and promote the quality of life for its residents.
It’s also a reflection of the dedication and hard work by TPA Senior Associate Cori Williams and TPA Federal Associate Laura Kroeger to ensure a successful grant application.
