Jul 24, 2016

TPA congratulates the City of Oakland (a TPA client) for being awarded a $16 million grant from the Head Start Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The proceeds from this grant will help fund comprehensive full-day early childhood learning experiences for over 1,000 low-income children and families in the City through the provision of an expanded high-quality transitional kindergarten program

This latest achievement is another example of the leadership of the Mayor, City Council, and City Administration, along with Congresswoman Barbara Lee, Senator Dianne Feinstein, and Senator Barbara Boxer, to seek solutions to improve the quality of life for low-income children and families throughout Oakland.

It’s also a reflection of the dedication and coalition-building by TPA to ensure a successful grant application.
