City of Pismo Beach Diablo Canyon Legislation Signed Into Law

Oct 02, 2018

TPA was proud to help the City of Pismo Beach (a TPA client) secure the passage of SB 1090 (Monning and Cunningham) which will ensure a safe, planned transition for the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant during its closure.

The legislation was signed into law by Governor Brown in September and will fully fund the community impact mitigation settlement, implement an employee retention program, and require management of the integrated resources plan to ensure there is no increase in greenhouse gas emissions as a result of decommissioning Diablo Canyon.

Thank you Senator Bill Monning and Assembly Member Jordan Cunningham, for your leadership and support, and congratulations to the City of Pismo Beach!

Sep 20, 2018

TPA is pleased to announce the completion of another successful summer internship program at the TPA offices in Sacramento and Washington, DC.
We were grateful to host two outstanding summer interns for 2018, Andres Ramirez and Kaitlyn Greta.

Andres, who interned in the TPA State Capitol Office, grew up in Sacramento and is beginning his senior year at UCLA. He is a proud member of the Bruin Rugby Team. Outside of school, Andres enjoys hiking, working on building projects with his brothers, and watching the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Kaitlyn, who interned in the TPA Federal Office, is beginning her junior year at Harvard University and is pursuing a double major in the Comparative Study of Religion and Government. Kaitlyn is very involved in playing and directing intramural sports, as well as planning events for her residential house.

Special kudos to TPA Senior Director Niccolo De Luca, Associate Laura Kroeger, and Associate Zac Commins for their leadership to ensure our interns had a robust experience.

Andres and Kaitlyn: thank you so much for the energy, enthusiasm, commitments, and success you brought to our organization this summer; we hope you learned as much from us as we learned from you!
