Oakland Zoo Elephant Protection Legislation Signed Into Law

TPA is proud to announce that Governor Jerry Brown signed SB 1062 (Lara), which will help protect elephants from abuse. Co-sponsored by the Oakland Zoo (a long-time TPA client) and The Humane Society of the United States, SB 1062 will prohibit the use of a bull hook and other barbaric devices to train or control elephants.

Under the leadership of Dr. Joel Parrot, the Oakland Zoo has been a champion of shaping public policy to protect endangered animals, as evidenced by this legislative achievement.

Thank you as well to Senator Ricardo Lara for sponsoring the legislation, and to Governor Jerry Brown for his signature.

And last but not least, thank you to TPA Northern California Senior Director Niccolo De Luca for helping shepherd this bill from vision into legacy.

Guadalupe Union School District

TPA is proud and honored to announce that we have been retained by the Guadalupe Union School District to provide federal and state funding advocacy services.

We look forward to helping the District pursue its mission to provide each student with the academic and social skills that will assist them in becoming high school graduates as well as college and career ready, independent thinkers, lifelong learners, and responsible, productive members of society.

TPA Grant Writing Showcase

TPA was honored to make a presentation about best practices for successful grant writing at a free community seminar hosted by Congressman Ed Royce and the Gianneschi Nonprofit Summer School at California State University, Fullerton. TPA Senior Associate Cori Williams and Associate Eric O’Donnell represented the Firm at the seminar and conducted the presentation.

The seminar taught the principles of grant readiness, proposal writing, relevant grant programs, and grant assistance. Congressman Royce and CSU Fullerton sponsor these seminars to help public and non-profit organizations in Orange County become more self-sufficient financially by learning how to pursue grant funding from federal, state, local, and private foundation sources.

Congratulations to Congressman Royce and his Federal Grants Representative Alison Martin for organizing a successful event.
