City of Orange Cove Wins $247,000 Grant for Safe Routes to School Project

TPA congratulates the City of Orange Cove and the Kings Canyon Unified School District (TPA clients) for being awarded a grant in the amount of $247,000 from the Regional Competitive Active Transportation Program (ATP) administered by the Fresno Council of Governments.

The proceeds from this grant will help fund the construction of a comprehensive “Safe Routes To School” project that includes: pedestrian crossing facilities with traffic calming bulb-outs, enhanced visibility crosswalk marketing, and enhanced crossing warning signs; all of which will help to improve the safety of City residents and District students.

This latest achievement is just another example of the efforts by the leadership of the City and the School District to improve the quality of life for their students and families.

It’s also a reflection of the dedication and hard work of TPA Central California Director Richard Harmon and TPA Associate Chelsea Vongehr to ensure a successful grant application.

City of South San Francisco Wins $868,000 Grant for Pedestrian Safety

TPA congratulates the City of South San Francisco (a TPA client) for being awarded a grant in the amount of $868,000 from the Statewide and Small Urban & Rural Components of the Active Transportation Program (ATP) administered by the California Department of Transportation.

The proceeds from this grant will help fund the Linden/Spruce Avenues traffic calming improvements in order to support and encourage commercial activity while also improving pedestrian safety.

This grant award is a tribute to the leadership and staff of the City, led by Mayor Mark Addiego, Vice Mayor Pradeep Gupta, Councilmember Liza Normandy, Councilmember Richard Garbarino, Councilmember Karyl Matsumoto, and City Manager Mike Futrell.

And kudos as well to TPA Senior Director Niccolo De Luca and TPA Associate Alex Gibbs for helping make it happen.

City of Brea Wins $652,000 Grant for Community-Wide Tracks Project

TPA congratulates the City of Brea (a TPA client) for being awarded a grant in the amount of $652,000 from the Regional Competitive Active Transportation Program (ATP) administered by the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG).

The proceeds from this grant will help fund the final segment of the Tracks at Brea Project, and will benefit the Brea community by linking active transportation users to key destinations, thereby decreasing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing public health.

This grant award (one of several secured for this project) is a tribute to the leadership and staff of the City, led by Mayor Christine Marick, Mayor Pro Tem Cecilia Hupp, and Council Members Glenn Parker, Marty Simonoff, and Steven Vargas. We thank them for their support.

And kudos as well to TPA Senior Associate Cori Williams who helped make it happen.

City of Selma Receives $556,000 Grant for Pedestrian Safety

TPA congratulates the City of Selma (a TPA client) for being awarded two grants in the total amount of $556,000 from the Regional Competitive Active Transportation Program (ATP) administered by the Fresno Council of Governments.

The proceeds from these grants will help fund both the implementation of an Active Transportation Plan as well as the installation of various pedestrian safety facilities throughout the City.

Congratulations to the City of Selma as well as to the TPA team members who helped make it happen: Central California Director Richard Harmon and Associate Sophia Sadaat.

City of Fowler Receives $111,350 Grant for Safe Routes to School Project

TPA congratulates the City of Fowler (a TPA client) for being awarded a grant in the amount of $111,350 from the Regional Competitive Active Transportation Program (ATP) administered by the Fresno Council of Governments.

The proceeds from this grant will help fund the construction of the City’s “Safe Routes To School” project: pedestrian crossing facilities with flashing beacons which will help to improve the safety of City residents and students as they walk to their school in the Fowler Unified School District.

Congratulations to the City of Fowler as well as to the TPA team members who helped make it happen: Central California Director Richard Harmon and Associate Gary Rogers.

City of Chowchilla

TPA is proud and honored to announce that we have been retained by the City of Chowchilla to provide federal and state funding advocacy services!

Incorporated in 1923, the City of Chowchilla derives its name from the indigenous American tribe of Chaushila Yokut Indians. With a population of almost 20,000 residents, the City is located in Madera County in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley. It is the home to the Berenda Reservoir and the Chowchilla Fair and Events Center, among other amenities.
