TPA Testifies on Behalf of City of Compton

Policy committee season is in full swing! Earlier this week, TPA Senior Associate Carlin Shelby testified on behalf of the City of Compton in support of Senator Laura Richardson’s SB 748—a bill that expands the Encampment Resolution Funding program to help cities address the growing number of people living in RVs along public roads.

SB 748 gives local governments critical tools to create and expand safe parking programs, manage abandoned or hazardous vehicles, and connect residents to shelter and housing, all while maintaining a humane, services-first approach.
