Merced Union High School District Awarded $225,000 Grant to Support Homeless Students

TPA congratulates Merced Union High School District (a TPA client) for being awarded a $225,000 grant from the Education for Homeless Children and Youth Grant Program of the California Department of Education.

The proceeds of this grant will be used to fund the first three years of an expanded program that provides support services to its over 1,000 homeless students. The funded program will provide outreach services to homeless students and parents; training to District staff; and will ensure that enrolled homeless children remain in class and on track to graduation.

This latest achievement is another example of the commitment of the District leadership to support all students to acquire the skills necessary to develop and follow their postsecondary dreams.

It is also a reflection of the dedication and hard work by TPA Associate Johannus Reijnders to ensure a successful grant application.

Congratulations Johan, and congratulations Merced Union High School District!
