TPA Hosts SGVCOG for Sacramento Advocacy Trip

Mar 03, 2025

Earlier in February, Townsend Public Affairs had the privilege of coordinating a Sacramento advocacy trip with the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (SGVCOG) to champion key regional priorities.

The delegation, including President Tim Hepburn, Principal Management Analyst Stephanie Wong, and Director of Government and Community Relations Ricky Choi, met with state lawmakers to discuss wildfire recovery efforts, the importance of protecting critical funding in the state budget, and the many successful programs led by SGVCOG. This trip was also a valuable opportunity to engage with newly elected officials and highlight the needs of the San Gabriel Valley.

We appreciate our state partners for their dedication to strengthening local communities and look forward to continuing our work with SGVCOG!

City of Palmdale Secures $23,000,000

Feb 27, 2025

We are thrilled to announce that TPA has successfully secured $23,000,000 in competitive funding in partnership with the City of Palmdale through the U.S. Department of Transportation‘s Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grant program!

This transformative funding will enable the City to construct a grade separation of Rancho Vista Boulevard at both Sierra Highway and the grade crossing of Metrolink and UP tracks. Elements of construction will include an overpass bridge, support columns and retaining walls, installation of paving, curbs, gutters, medians, sidewalks, streetlights, landscape and irrigation features, drainage facilities, and the relocation of utilities. This significant undertaking will improve access to daily needs such as jobs, education, health care, food, nature, and recreation.

At TPA, we are proud to champion initiatives that improve and strengthen California communities. This latest achievement is another example of the commitment of the City to create a desirable community where people want to work, live, and play.

Once again, congratulations, Palmdale, and thank you to everyone that was involved in this success!
