City of Duarte Wins $150,000 Grant for Greening and Traffic Calming

TPA congratulates the City of Duarte (a TPA client) for being awarded a grant in the amount of $150,000 from the Sustainability Planning Grant Program, administered by the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG).

The proceeds from this grant will be used to fund the Duarte Town Center Greening and Traffic Calming Plan. The plan will make Huntington Drive between Buena Vista Street and Highland Avenue a “complete street” for the residents of Duarte, accommodating all forms of transportation, including bicyclists, pedestrians, and wheelchair users. The plan will also help to balance safety, traffic flow, and connectivity to encourage residents to reduce the use of single occupant vehicles.

This latest achievement is another example of the commitment of City leadership to improve the quality of life and ensure the safety of their residents.

It’s also a reflection of the dedication and hard work by TPA Director Richard Harmon to ensure a successful grant application.

Congratulations, Duarte!
