City of Huron Awarded $391,786 for Community Oriented Policing

TPA congratulates the City of Huron for being awarded a grant in the amount of $391,786 from the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Hiring Program administered by the U.S. Department of Justice.

This grant will enable the City to hire two new officers, one of which will be a School Resource Officer (SRO). This funding will allow the Huron Police Department to safeguard the community they serve by working with residents to build safe and sustainable neighborhoods.

This latest achievement is another example of the commitment of the City to pursue its mission to provide efficient and effective quality municipal services that enhance the quality of life the community of Huron deserves.

Congratulations Huron!
