We are thrilled to announce that TPA has successfully secured $148,500 in competitive funding in partnership with the Desert Recreation District through CalRecycle‘s Beverage Container Recycling Program for its Water Refill Station Project.
This funding will enable DRD to purchase and install water refill stations at public parks and community centers, ensuring that those utilizing the recreation areas have consistent and convenient access to water.
At TPA, we proudly champion initiatives that improve and strengthen California communities. This latest achievement is another example of the District’s commitment to enriching the quality of life for Coachella Valley residents through a premier, accessible parks and recreation system.
Once again, congratulations, DRD, and thank you to everyone that was involved in this success!
The State Legislature reconvened from Spring Recess on April 21 and TPA has hit the ground running in Sacramento! Our team has been front and center at the Capitol, delivering testimony and championing key bills on behalf of our California city clients. With the legislative session in full swing, we’re proud to be a strong voice for local communities and excited to keep pushing forward impactful policies throughout the state.
Members of TPA’s southern California team were honored to volunteer at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County last week! The team had a rewarding day harvesting fruits and vegetables that will be provided to residents and families around Orange County, helping support Second Harvest’s mission to provide dignified, equitable and consistent access to nutritious food, creating a foundation for community health.
Thank you, Second Harvest Food Bank, for all of the incredible work you do and the positive impact your team has on the community! TPA is looking forward to working together again in the future. #TPAGivesBack
TPA was honored to sponsor and attend the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) 2025 Regional Conference and General Assembly to celebrate its 60th Anniversary!
TPA Associates Jacob Leischner and Ryan McCarthy, pictured with SCAG President Cindy Allen (Council Member, City of Long Beach), represented TPA at the conference, which brought together state and local elected officials, business and civic leaders, local government staff, and key industry stakeholders to engage in critical conversations and discuss how we can work together to make Southern California a stronger and more resilient region.
The presentations and panels highlighted a number of important policy areas, including mobility, housing and communities, the environment, the economy, and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Congratulations to SCAG for another great event and best wishes for continued success!
Last week, TPA teamed up with the California Association of Councils of Governments (CALCOG) and the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments for an insightful webinar on efforts to modernize the Brown Act and what these changes could mean for public agencies across California.
TPA Senior Associate Carly Shelby broke down the pending legislation, shared key takeaways for local agencies, and provided exclusive updates from inside the Capitol.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us – we hope you found it valuable!
